An Old Friend

Description

This is an old imaginary friend I had when I was younger. He's been revamped to a more current depiction.

Eski remained buried in my imagination until recently, what with school and growing up and what not. It wasn't until I came across a comic that depicted a little girl losing her imaginary friend to the social stigma of talking to oneself being weird that thoughts of Eski began to drag him from the depths of my memory. (Actually, talking to yourself is a natural phenomena. I think the mind does it when we're alone as an idle process, kind of like how computers have background processes even when a program isn't exactly open. Or something like it.) At the time he was still dubbed, "Mr. Lion", a childhood name I came up for him in elementary school. He was just a lion... in a slightly formal suit. I took some inspiration off of a previous work, "What Does The Fox Say?" See link below and made him more anthropomorphic.

The childhood version of him was very limited, and I never put him down on paper. Most of what is in this design is off of modern depiction and what I believe his form would be if he had gotten considerably older. Eski, to me, would be a somewhat distinguished gent and rather proper and formal. Usually. Believe it or not, he serves as a voice of conscience from time to time when I come across a moral conundrum.

Fun Fact: "Eski Aslan" is Turkish for "Old Lion".

Eski belongs to me. Do not steal this work. I'll be mad and disappointed in you, because this isn't even worth stealing.
It's not even the best piece on this site. So why would you?

For those who would like to draw something based on this work, just ask up front. Be sure to credit me afterwards~!
